Whilst studying law, Andrew worked part time as a clerk for a specialist law firm in Sydney undertaking all tasks in relation to family law. Andrew completed his Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Western Sydney in 2006.In 2006, Andrew was admitted into practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Since Andrew’s admission, he has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. He has worked on a vast array of matters, including:
- Property matters;
- Parenting matters;
- Binding Financial Agreements (for married and de-facto couples);
- Spousal maintenance;
- Child support matters.
Andrew has also gained extensive experience in the areas of Wills, Probate and Family Provision claims. These areas of the law go hand in hand with family law, as such Andrew can offer a greater insight into family law matters.
Andrew has gained extensive experience in court litigation in various jurisdictions. Andrew has appeared in the following jurisdictions:
- Family Court of Australia;
- Federal Magistrates Court of Australia;
- Supreme Court of New South Wales;
- District Court of New South Wales;
- Local Court of New South Wales.
Andrew is also experienced with mediation and settlement conferences, which he has conducted privately and through the court system.
Andrew commenced employment with Owen Hodge Lawyers in June 2011. He is the team leader of the family law department and is involved in improving systems for file management and employee training. This puts him in an ideal position to ensure the needs of both clients and employees are met.
Through his practice, Andrew understands the importance of upholding the firms’ visions and values, in particular the need “to enhance the lives of its clients”. Andrew believes this can be achieved by providing a friendly, supportive and cost effective approach to family law matters.
